U.S. Warships Headed Toward North Korea Peninsula
The Carl Vinson strike group is making its way from Singapore to the Korean Peninsula, after the increased concerns over the testing of weapons North Korea has been conducting. Pacific Command announced that Adm. Harry Harris, the commander of US Pacific Command, gave the order. It is not uncommon for the Navy to oporate in that area as a show of force, as the USS Vinson was already in South Korea last month for military exercises.
News of the carrier move comes just after a summit meeting between President Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, where North Korea was one of the top priorities on the agenda.
For now we can all just speculate on what this move is all about, but if we have learned anything from what President Trump has up his sleeve this may be another surprise show of strength.
